デザイナーナイジェル・ケーボンは考えた。私たちの働き方、暮らし方が大きく変わりつつある今、改めてスーツという洋服にワークウェア。すなわちワークスーツという思想を取り戻したい、と。しかし彼はここで、大いなる苦難に直面することになる。産業構造が激変した現代の大英国内やヨーロッパでは、自国の労働者たちがかつて着ていたような服を仕立てる工場も、生地を織る工場も、もはや衰退し残されていないのだった。そこでナイジェル・ケーボンは日本に在住する自身の"影武者"に、その任を託すことにした。その名は都築隆二、通称ZUKI。17年間にわたって彼の右腕として活動し、そのデザイン哲学・コンセプト・センス等の思考方法を叩き込まれるとともに、日本国内での糸づくりから機織り、縫製技術、仕上げ加工といった、ものづくりの全生産工程における、あらゆる知識・知見と技術に通じた男である。謎に包まれたヴィンテージウェアのものづくりを研究する、考古学者。再現不可能と言われた糸や生地を現代の技術で復刻させる、エンジニア。そしてナイジェル・ケーボンという異才から放たれる突飛な着想を具体的なデザインへ落とし込み、日本製品に仕立てる翻訳家。そんな3つの顔を併せ持つ、ナイジェル・ケーボンの"影武者"の主導によって、わが国に残された職人技術を駆使する形でこのプロジェクトはスタート。

Nigel Cabournのワークスーツレーベルである"OX'ed Silver"。OX'ed Silverの製品は、ヴィンテージ生地の打ち込み本数や糸設計に基づいて旧式力織機によって生み出されます。最先端の技術では再現することのできない、古き良きヴィンテージウェアのような風合いをOX'ed Silverでは感じていただけます。Nigel Cabournの OX'ed Silver より オーバーオール の入荷。こちらは炭鉱夫が着用していたワークスーツに焦点を当てたオーバーオール。OX'ed Silverではオーバーオールの展開は初。ファブリックには、ウエイトのあるウールを採用。裏地を配さない1枚生地で仕上げているので、生地本来のポテンシャルを直に感じていただけます。

Designer Nigel Cabourn had an idea. With the way we work and live changing dramatically, he wanted to reinvent the idea of ​​workwear in suits—in other words, to recapture the concept of the worksuit. However, he faced a great challenge. In modern Britain and Europe, where the industrial structure has undergone dramatic change, the factories that sewed the clothes and wove the fabric that workers once wore have all but disappeared. So Nigel Cabourn decided to entrust the task to his "double" living in Japan. His name was Ryuji Tsuzuki, commonly known as ZUKI. Having served as his right-hand man for 17 years, Tsuzuki had instilled in him his design philosophy, concepts, and sensibility. He was also a man with extensive knowledge, insight, and techniques for the entire manufacturing process in Japan, from thread production to weaving, sewing, and finishing techniques. He was also an archaeologist who studied the mysterious craftsmanship of vintage clothing, and an engineer who used modern technology to recreate threads and fabrics that were once thought impossible to reproduce. And then there's the translator, who translates the eccentric ideas of the genius Nigel Cabourn into concrete designs and turns them into Japanese products. This project was launched under the leadership of Nigel Cabourn's "double," who combines these three roles and makes full use of Japan's remaining artisanal techniques.

"OX'ed Silver" is Nigel Cabourn's worksuit label. OX'ed Silver products are woven on old-fashioned power looms based on the thread count and yarn design of vintage fabrics. OX'ed Silver offers the feel of good old vintage wear that cannot be reproduced with cutting-edge technology. Nigel Cabourn's OX'ed Silver overalls are now in stock. These overalls are inspired by the work suits worn by coal miners. This is OX'ed Silver's first offering of overalls. The fabric is made from a heavy wool. Crafted from a single piece of fabric without a lining, the original potential of the fabric can be directly experienced.
